ICSI, or Intracytoplasmic Sperm Injection, is a specialized form of IVF used primarily in cases of male infertility. Instead of mixing eggs and sperm in a dish, a single sperm is injected directly into an egg to aid fertilization. This technique is particularly useful when sperm quality or quantity is a concern.

A typical IVF cycle takes about 4–6 weeks. It involves ovarian stimulation, egg retrieval, fertilization, embryo development, and embryo transfer, followed by a pregnancy test two weeks later.
